Holy Trinity is currently looking for a Director of Youth and Education Ministries. The ideal candidate will profess faith in Jesus Christ as Lord, have a firm working knowledge of the Bible, and be committed to the core values of the North American Lutheran Church. They will interact well with parishioners of all ages and have experience with professional teaching and education duties. Director of Youth and Education Ministries


Job Purpose: To provide formation and growth in the Christian faith for parishioners of all ages through leadership of the educational ministry of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.




Sunday School

  • Seek ways to foster innovative programs in Sunday School through Bible-based curriculum and other resources
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and support of Sunday School teachers
  • Work to provide a quality Sunday School experience for preschool, K-12 youth, and adult students
  • Evaluate, develop, and implement a class for high school graduates, college students, and other young adults
  • Encourage the growth of the “Living in Faith” Sunday School class
  • Communicate with the congregation through the Bulletin, Herald, Website, and other means as appropriate
  • Attend and facilitate Christian Education Committee meetings
  • Observe and have working knowledge of all facets of the educational ministry of Holy Trinity

Holy Trinity Youth (Teens for Christ)

  • Evaluate, develop, and implement a quality program commensurate with the needs of the youth of Holy Trinity so that they grow to “Preach, Teach, and Serve in Christ’s Name”
  • Plan and prepare curriculum for youth meetings
  • Communicate a calendar of events with the church office and congregation
  • Organize an advisory group of parents to help with long range planning, projects, and serve as advisors and chaperones
  • Be available to the youth to provide counseling and guidance when needed
  • Encourage participation in Mission Region and NALC church-wide youth gatherings and retreats

Special Events

Plan, organize, promote, facilitate, and evaluate the following events:

  • Youth Sunday & Souper Bowl Luncheon
  • Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper & Easter Breakfast
  • Good News Club (in conjunction with the GNC Team Leader)
  • Easter Egg Hunt (in conjunction with the Social Ministry Committee)
  • Day Camp (orientation and week of Camp)
  • Vacation Bible School
  • Rally Sunday/Sunday School Kick-off
  • Children’s Christmas Program


  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, prepare budget and expenditure requests, and oversee the stewardship of our facilities and equipment
  • Work with the pastor, staff, and Christian Education Committee to develop, implement, and coordinate a Kids for Christ ministry for the children of Holy Trinity
  • Submit reports to the congregational council and attend meetings as needed


Personal Requirements and Experience

  • Profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
  • Firm working knowledge of the Bible.
  • Understanding of and commitment to the core values of the NALC.
  • Experience in a job with professional teaching and education duties.
  • Strong administrative skills.
  • Ability to seek, engage, and mobilize volunteers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Interacts well with parishioners of all ages.
  • Maintains a cooperative working relationship with all church staff.
  • Maintains a visible presence in the church and greater community.
  • Preferred but not required: college degree in education or ministry.
